I visited Fat Jack’s Comicrypt store in Philadelphia today and picked up a few comic books. One of the books I purchased was Black Adam Special Edition #1. It’s a good read. This book starts out with an amazing, eye opening fight scene then suddenly goes on to a plot that I think will develop into something great in the upcoming issues. (Black Adam made his first appearance in DC comics Marvel Family #1, December 1945. In the comic, he is an Egyptian prince named Teth-Adam who was bestowed powers by the wizard Shazam.) On October 21, 2022 Black Adam the movie will be released in the United States. Staring Dwayne Johnson (Black Adam), Pierce Brosnan (Doctor Fate), Aldis Hodge (Hawkman), Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone), Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher) and Djimon Hounsou (Shazam). Here is the official trailer… ...also check out these 3 new DC comic books. 1. Black Adam – The Justice Society Files: Dr. Fate #1 - December 2022 2. Batman Vs. Robin #1 (Variant Cover by Alexander Lozano) 3. Detective Comic 1064 - November 2022 (Variant Cover by Anacleto & Arif Prianto)
Besides comic books and graphic novels, I have two favorites. The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison and Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Have you read any of these books? I would love to hear your favorite book recommendations, comment below if you like.

The Bluest Eye. "The Bluest Eye, published in 1970, is the first novel written by Toni Morrison. The novel takes place in Lorain, Ohio, and tells the story of a young African-American girl named Pecola who grew up following the Great Depression."
Siddhartha. “Siddhartha: An Indian Poem is a 1922 novel by Hermann Hesse that deals with the spiritual journey of self-discovery of a man named Siddhartha during the time of the Gautama Buddha. The book, Hesse's 9th novel, was written in German, in a simple, lyrical style."
Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned. One of the things I plan to do this weekend is to read a few comic books. Yesterday I went to the comic book store in Philadelphia and bought three books, Basilisk #8, Barbarella #8 and Savage Spider-Man #2. Here is a video clip I made of the store’s location, if you like .. Fat Jack’s Comicrypt, Philadelphia.
Hey “true believers", if you know me, you know that I'm a comic book fanatic. I picked up this book from Fat Jack's Comicrypt store in Philadelphia on Sansom Street. The staff was very friendly and super knowledgeable about comics, it’s well worth a visit when you’re in Philly. Ok, I got AVENGERS of the Wastelands #3, I wasn’t too familiar with this series, but the cover kinda caught my eye. Dani Cage, the new bearer of Thor’s hammer, Bruce Banner Jr., son of the Hulk and Grant, Doom’s former super soldier now the new Captain America, banded together to stop Dr. Doom’s most recent assaults against the civilians of the Wastelands. Here are a few pages (no particular order) ... I’d highly recommend this comic book, this series, and make sure you check out Fat Jack's Comicrypt store in Philly.., Oh, and leave a comment about a book you would like to recommend down below. Stay safe! |
